Verizon.net email customers can now access their accounts in AOL mail platform.
What do I mean? Verizon no longer offers email login to customers, instead customers now access their accounts through AOL email platform. Since 2017, the Verizon email service provider has migrated their mail service to AOL.

This has been the question for years now. According to the Verizon Support Team, they want to concentrate on Wireless and Home service delivery. In other words, in their writing, they said,
Over the years, we've realized there are more capable email platforms available to our valued customers. As a result, we decided to get out of the email business and focus our energies with providing the best in TV and internet experiences.
This and more may be the reason behind this. However, this migration does not affect the internet and related services of their customers. This simply means that if you have an account with Verizon apart from email, you are still their customer. Only your Verizon.net email account was moved to AOL.
I know you still need your Verizon.net email account because you have some important files in there. Or you just like the account. No need to worry because your account is still intact. Now, let me show you how to access your account through AOL mail platform.

How do I login to Verizon email account with AOL?

  • To access your account, you have to move to aol.mail.com.
  • Enter your username, email or mobile number.
Provide your Verizon email details
  • Click 'next' to provide your password.
  • Tap the 'sign in' button to proceed to your account.
Note: While signing in, enter your Verizon email address and password. This means you can still use your Verizon account including "@verizon.net".

How to access your Verizon email account with yahoo services

  • Move to yahoo.com platform.
  • Click the sign in button. Enter your details and tap sign in.
Ensure you make use of your full Verizon email login details in the platform. Don't add "@yahoo.com" but "@Verizon.net".

Can I access my Verizon email account with AOL app?

Yes, you can. Simply download the aol application on your mobile device. Launch it. Enter your details and login. 
However, if you are using an iOS device, you need iOS 9.3 or later to run the AOL app. If you are using an android phone, you need android 4.4 or later to access the application.

How do I access my Verizon.net email login account with third party app?

It is important for you to know that you can access your account using any other platforms like Outlook or Thunderbird. 
How can you do this? If you already have an account with any of the third party platforms then you need to update your password to the one you are using with AOL. On the other hand, you can set up you Verizon.net email account IMAP in the third party app, if you are not currently using any email configured with POP3 settings.

I did not migrate my Verizon email, what happens to my Verizon email account?

Maybe you have asked yourself this question. Or you have been trying to login but you can't access your account. Just like I told you above, Verizon.net email service has moved to AOL mail. Therefore, all customers of Verizon email are expected to move their accounts.
Now the question is, what happens if you don't migrate. You will simply lose your account. According to the Verizon community
Customers no longer have the option to keep their Verizon.net email address or extract their data to another service provider. All info that wasn't migrated to AOL of another email provider before December 5, 2017 has been deleted from our system.
This may be the reason you could not access your account. All you need to do is to create a new email account with any of the email serving domains.

How to troubleshoot Verizon.net login problems

  • If you cannot access your account on AOL platform due to wrong password, simply click 'forgot password' on the login page. 
  • Provide sign in email address, phone number, recovery email or recovery password. Once you provide any of these details correctly, click 'continue'.
  • Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the process.
